have CIOs responded to the need to reimagine software development in the wake of a massive paradigm shift?Howhastheaccelerateddemandforquick,agilesoftwaresolutionsimpactedsoftwaredevelopersintheITuengineroomnandthebusinessusersthatdependThesearethequestionsthatthisresearchsetouttoanswer.Thefindingsrevealthatlow-codedevelopmentplatformsofferorganizationsapowerful,scalablesolutioninthesechallengingtimesandisatechnologythathasquicklycomeofage.Thereportisbasedontheexperiencesofover2,000ITprofessionalsacrosssixutries,revealingclearglobaltrendsandregion-specificstories.Ituncoversarapidevolutioninsoftwareneedsforbusinessesineverysector.Anditexploreswherethesechangingneedsintersectwiththeexperiencedbenefitsoflow-code-mostnotablyinproductivity,ct.andtimesavings.WithITleadersreportingthattwo-thirdsofmajorsoftwareprojectsarebehindschedule,thereisnotimetoloseinadoptinglow-code.Ourfindingsrevealthatlow-codeoffersgreathopeforthefutureofsoftwaredevelopment-andisasolutionwhosebenefitsareonlyjustbeginningtobeunderstood.Itisincreasinglybeingrecognizedashavingthepowertochangewhereandhowtechnologyisused,todemocratizetechnology,andtofosterITtalentdiversityforthebetter.CHAPTERTWOMETHODOLOGYTheStateofLow-Code2021isbasedonasurveyof2,025ITprofessionals(totalaudience),comprising1,209ITleaders(decision-makers)and816softwaredevelopers(developeraudience)acrosssixcountries.TheresearchwasgovernedbyReputationLeaders,anindependentresearchconsultancy.AllITprofessionalswereemployedinorganizationswith50ormoreemployees.ITleaderswereidentifiedaseitheraCIO,CTO.orchiefdataOHiCer/headofdata/headofdatamanagementandconfirmedashavingamajorroleintechnologydecisionsandinmanagingITresources.InterviewswereconductedonlineintheU.S.,China,theU.K.,Germany,Belgium,andtheNetherlandsbetweenMay10andJune21,2021.Themarginoferrorforthetotalsampleof2025is2.2%atthe95%levelofconfidence.IntheU.S.(1012),themarginoferroris+/-3.1%,andinEurope(503)andChina(510),themarginoferroris+/-4.4%.ChapterthreeEXECUTIVE
